Crowns and bridges

Do you have a cavity or a root canal, or are you looking to replace a missing tooth? Crowns and bridges made by 5DENT Dentistry are the solution for you

5 reasons why you should have the metal-ceramic crown made at the 5DENT dental clinic

What is a crown and what is a bridge? What is the difference between the two?

While a crown covers a tooth, a dental bridge can replace one or more missing teeth. In a bridge, the neighbouring teeth serve as pillars to carry the chewing load. Therefore, in the case of a missing tooth, the two end links of the three-unit bridge are positioned on the teeth themselves. A prerequisite for a reliably stable bridge is that the neighbouring teeth of the missing tooth, which are to serve as pillars, are intact.

Dental crowns and bridges made by a dental technician match the colour and shape of the rest of your teeth and completely fulfil the function of the original tooth.

Dental crowns and bridges are a durable, resistant solution that improves the aesthetics of the tooth structure, strengthens weakened teeth and replaces the chewing function caused by tooth loss.

What are the advantages of a dental bridge or dental crown at your 5DENT dental clinic?

Modern dental restorations, i.e. crowns and bridges, are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also anatomically restore the healthy chewing balance in the mouth. You can even enjoy these benefits from tomorrow at your 5DENT dental clinic:

  • Bridges and crowns are made by dentists with decades of experience so you can be sure of success
  • Strong, durable and stable long-lasting dentures that will serve you for decades
  • If your dental crown or bridge is made in your 5DENT dental clinic in Mosonmagyaróvár, this means considerable savings for you, because dental crowns of excellent quality and with great savings are made in our dental clinic.

When do you need a crown?

In these cases, dental crowns are most often needed:

  • To replace your own teeth in case of tooth loss, if this is not possible with implants
  • as implant abutment, if the missing tooth has been replaced by an implant
  • For extensive caries
  • Broken teeth, in case of severe damage
  • For strengthening root-treated, weakened teeth
  • If you are unhappy with the shape or colour of your existing teeth

When is a dental bridge an ideal solution?

This treatment may be appropriate if several adjacent teeth are severely damaged but do not yet need to be removed.

A bridge can be a good solution if you are missing or need to have some teeth removed and the number and condition of the remaining teeth allow your dentist to use them as bridge abutments.

How is a crown or bridge made at your 5DENT dental clinic with considerable savings?

  • Before treatment, we take a panoramic X-ray which is evaluated by our doctor and you discuss the possible treatment plan with him.
  • Our dentist grinds and takes impressions of your teeth and records the bite at the same time.
  • During the impression, your tooth colour is determined with the help of a tooth shade guide so that our dental technician can match the colour of the crown or bridge as closely as possible to the colour of your existing teeth.
  • So that you are not left without teeth until your final denture is ready, you will receive your temporary denture within a few hours.
  • The framework try-in takes place in 3-4 days. Our dentist then checks whether the framework of the denture fits exactly on the polished tooth.
  • The next step is the rough trial in 4-5 days, where the tooth-coloured porcelain veneer is applied to the crown or bridge. At this stage, minor adjustments can be made if necessary
  • In a few hours, the finished crown or bridge is delivered by the dental technician.
  • At the time of delivery, the crown is fixed by our dentist with a strong, dental adhesive.
  • The completion of the crowns and bridges takes a total of 5-9 working days in your 5DENT dental clinic.

How we can make your smile look new

What are dental crowns and bridges made of at 5DENT?

Crowns and bridges can be made of different materials and the ideal material and procedure is chosen based on your anatomical possibilities and your ideas. So a crown or bridge can be:

  • A tooth made of a combination of metal and ceramic is called a metal-ceramic crown. A metal-ceramic crown is one of the most commonly used dental restorations thanks to its good resilience, excellent resistance and affordable price. During fabrication, the dental technician builds the dental ceramic onto a metal framework to ensure the aesthetic appearance of the crown or bridge.
  • With crowns made of zirconia, you achieve a very aesthetic and natural effect. This translucent material is also the first from which a framework is made in the dental laboratory, which is then covered with a ceramic layer. The ceramic veneer gives the tooth its final shape and colour.
  • With the monolithic zircon crowns, the entire denture is carved out of a blank and is not veneered. An additional micrometre layer can be added to further improve the aesthetics. These crowns are mostly used in the back regions of the large molars. The reason for this is that these crowns are very resistant and therefore durable.

How much does a crown or bridge cost at 5DENT?

The prices depend on the type of crown you have chosen, the tooth colour, the materials and any additional dental measures that may be required. The exact price can only be determined during a consultation.

At 5DENT Dental Clinic, quality comes first, which is why we provide a guarantee for all our prosthetic products.

During your consultation, our dentist will explain the advantages of the different types of crowns and bridges and help you choose your options.

These are the questions our patients have asked about crowns and bridges (FAQ)

Where are crowns and bridges made at a significant discount?

The crowns and bridges are made in our 5DENT dental clinic in Mosonmagyaróvár, only 14 kilometres from the Austrian border. You can find detailed information about our contact details here.

How long does it take to make the crowns and bridges?

The whole procedure takes on average 5-9 working days.

Does making crowns and bridges hurt me?

Crowns and bridges are always made under local anaesthetic so that they do not feel painful to you. In our clinic you can have your dental treatment under anaesthesia or sedation, although this is the most common option chosen by our patients for oral surgery and implantology.

Which crown or bridge can I choose for an implant?

The most modern method of replacing missing teeth is implantation. After the healing period, the implant crown or bridge is placed on this artificial tooth root. Metal-ceramic crowns are most commonly used for implants, but crowns made of zirconium dioxide, which also meet higher aesthetic demands, are becoming increasingly popular.

What do fixed and screw-retained crowns and bridges look like?

Fixed crowns are attached to existing teeth or implants using a special bonding technique. These crowns can only be corrected with difficulty or not at all in the future, should a correction be necessary.

Screws can only be used to attach a crown to an implant. These prostheses can be easily unscrewed and corrected later if necessary.

How should I prepare for the fabrication of crowns or bridges?

You need to make an appointment for a personal consultation so that we can offer you our transfer service. If you already have a panoramic X-ray or treatment plan from another practice, please bring it with you. Also state any medication you take regularly. We need this information.

Do I need an X-ray or CT scan?

A panoramic X-ray is necessary to understand the whole picture of the problem and less frequently, usually during an oral surgery consultation, we need to perform a 3D CT scan.

How much will the treatment cost?

The cost of treatment is influenced by a number of factors, including the type and complexity of the treatment. After your consultation, you will receive a detailed and written cost estimate from us, which includes a significant savings potential.

Does my health insurance cover the cost of my dentures?

If you have a contract with an insurance company, you will be reimbursed for all or part of the value of crowns and bridges.  The amount that is reimbursed depends mainly on the type of insurance you have. Your treatment plan is sent to the insurance company for approval, the insurance company approves the submitted treatment plan (this only applies to German patients!), the dental treatment included in the treatment plan is carried out and we prepare all the documents that need to be submitted to the insurance company at the end of the treatment.

What treatment options are there for me?

After the examination, we will inform you about the most suitable treatment options for you, but you should know that we offer all the treatments you may need in our well-equipped 5DENT dental clinic, except paediatric dentistry. Our excellent dental specialists will help you.

How long does it take to recover after the procedure?

It depends on the type of treatment. Some treatments allow you to return to your daily activities immediately after treatment, while others may require rest or a low-impact lifestyle (e.g. you may need to allow recovery time after implantation).

When can I eat again after the procedure?

It depends on the type and complexity of the procedure. For some simple procedures you can eat immediately after the anaesthetic wears off, for others you need to be careful and avoid certain foods. This will be explained to you in more detail during your personal consultation.

Will there be any swelling or discolouration after the procedure?

You may experience slight swelling or discolouration after certain procedures. In any case, you will be informed about what to expect and how to deal with these symptoms.

What guarantees are offered for the treatment?

The effectiveness and durability of treatments depend on many factors, including your general health and oral hygiene habits. Specific guarantees will be given during your consultation.
