Dental treatment in Hungary is not only inexpensive, but thanks to EU regulations, your health insurance will also cover all or part of the treatment costs. Under EU agreements, the insurance company is obliged to provide the same cover as if the treatment had been carried out in Austria or Germany.
How does the refund work?
The procedure is simple: ask our colleagues for a preliminary cost and treatment plan, which will be reviewed by your health insurance company, and you will receive an answer within 2 to 4 weeks as to how much your health insurance company will reimburse.

Which treatments can be reimbursed by your insurance company that you have had carried out at 5DENT?
- Dentures: If you have your dentures done at 5DENT, you are usually entitled to reimbursement. Our customer service staff can provide you with information and a cost estimate that you need to submit to your health insurance company. We will support you through every step of the claim process. So if you are unsure, we will be happy to help you.
- Implantation: If you have had an implant placed at your 5DENT dental clinic, you may be eligible for reimbursement from your supplementary insurance, but this depends on your insurance package. If you contact our customer service and request an individual cost estimate and send it to your insurance company, your insurance company will review it in advance. If the insurance company has made a check and the answer is positive, there is nothing standing in the way of reimbursement. Of course, you will receive administrative support from our customer service in German throughout the entire process.
Now that we know the reimbursement process, how can we make a wise decision to maximise savings?
If you have already attended a dental consultation and received a treatment plan and a cost estimate, it is worth obtaining a comparison quote for the same treatment from 5DENT. This way you have nothing to lose and can save a considerable amount of money.
You can even do this by e-mail. Simply send your treatment plan or your current panoramic X-ray from your dentist. Our customer service will calculate your estimated costs so you can see how much you can save on your treatment at 5DENT Dental Clinic.
If you have not yet been to a dentist, you can visit our dental clinic for a personal consultation and estimate. If you do not wish to travel to Hungary, you can make an appointment in Munich to meet our dentist in person.
How does the administration work in Germany?
According to German law, you must submit a treatment plan and a cost estimate to the insurance company in advance, which our staff will prepare for you.
The insurance company usually replies within 2 to 4 weeks and, in the case of a positive assessment, informs you of the amount of the subsidy.
During the assessment process, the insurance company staff may ask you questions about your treatment, which we will of course be happy to answer.
If you have supplementary insurance, please let our colleagues know and they will prepare the necessary estimate for you to submit to the other insurance company. The procedure depends on the insurance company, please check with your insurance company.
You will receive the subsidy after the treatment has been completed. All you have to do is submit the invoice you receive from us. In our experience, the health insurance companies usually transfer the money to your account within 2-4 weeks.
